Focus

Kaylee B. Crockett, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is a clinical health psychologist and clinical scientist whose research examines how social and behavioral factors influence chronic illness management. Her work focuses on the role of social support, behavioral interventions, and patient engagement in improving health outcomes, particularly for individuals with cardiometabolic conditions.

In addition to her research, Dr. Crockett leads an integrated Primary Care Behavioral Health clinic within UAB’s Family and Community Medicine department, where she provides care for patients across the lifespan to address stress, mental well-being, and other factors that impact physical health. She is committed to developing evidence-based, patient-centered strategies that enhance access to behavioral healthcare in primary care and community settings. Her goal is to support sustainable health habits and resilience in chronic disease management by integrating behavioral health services into medical care.
